Founded in Plano, TX, Lumina Medical was born from a vision long held by Physician Assistant Sahba Yazdani—one rooted in her deep love for people and her calling to care for them in a more meaningful way. Sahba had always dreamed of building a clinic where patients weren’t rushed, where questions were welcomed, and where every visit was a step forward in someone’s health journey.

That dream became reality with the support of Dr. Duhaney, Sabha’s longtime mentor and now Medical Director of Lumina Medical. Their shared values around preventive, integrative care laid the foundation for a clinic that puts patients at the center of everything.

Dr. Robert Duhaney

Dr. Robert Duhaney, our Medical Director, has a strong background in internal medicine and over two decades of clinical experience. He has a particular interest in nutrition, lifestyle-based prevention, and long-term health maintenance. Dr. Duhaney believes that great healthcare starts with a respectful partnership between patient and provider—one rooted in education, trust, and compassionate care. He was also the primary care physician for Sahba Yazdani during her teenage years, inspiring her to pursue a career in medicine. Their long-standing professional relationship ultimately led to a shared vision and collaboration in founding Lumina Medical.


As Medical Director of Lumina Medical, Dr. Duhaney provides strategic clinical oversight to ensure that all care is delivered with excellence, safety, and integrity. Board-certified in internal medicine, he earned his medical degree from Drexel University and completed residency at Johns Hopkins Bayview. Though he does not treat patients directly at Lumina Medical, his experience in preventive and wellness-based medicine is instrumental in guiding our patient-centered approach. Dr. Duhaney’s early mentorship of Sahba Yazdani, who was once his patient, helped shape her path into medicine and laid the foundation for their joint effort in building this practice.

Sahba Yazdani, PA-C

Sahba Yazdani earned her Bachelor degree from the University of Texas at Dallas and her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. She is a member of the American Academy of Physician Associates.

Sahba believes that God has given her a mission to care for others with compassion, respect, and dedication. Her vision has always been to create a space where patients feel truly heard, supported, and empowered.


She specializes in primary care and the management of chronic and acute conditions for patients 16 and older. Her clinical focus includes diabetes, thyroid disease, hypertension, men’s and women’s hormone therapy, and urgent health concerns. Sahba also has a special interest in weight management and mental health conditions such as anxiety, depression, and sleep disorders.


Fluent in both medicine and empathy, Sahba is committed to building long-term partnerships with her patients, educating and advocating for their health at every step. Outside the clinic, she enjoys spending time with her husband and family, volunteering in the community, and playing with her dog, Casper.
